I haven't blogged in awhile and shame on me for that. But I am back in fighting form to start a series of up to-the-minute (well at least up-to-the-couple-hours) blog posts on the President-elect's important appointments. Who he appoints to those top positions will shape our lives in the next 4 (let's just say 8) years just as much as the Obamanator.
Gregory B. Craig, White House counsel
Craig is a partner in a prominent Washington D.C. law firm. He has represented some high profile clients such as John Hinckley, Jr. (attempted to assassinate President Reagan) and President Clinton during his impeachment trial. As White House counsel he will be responsible for advising the President on legal issues.
Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Relations and Public Liaison
Jarrett has been a close advisor to the Obama's for a number of years, starting her political career in Chicago just like the President-elect. She is current a co-chairperson of the presidential transitional team.
Phil Schiliro, Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs
The President-elect is pulling Schiliro from his position as Chief of Staff for Rep. Henry Waxman from California. Schiliro is currently on the advisory board for Obama's presidential transitional team.
We're still waiting to hear about Secretary of State. Will it be Senator Hillary Clinton, Governor Bill Richardson, or Senator Chuck Hagel? My money is on Hillary.
